Duo is designed and developed in Christchurch, New Zealand by riders, ex-racers and people who have spent their working lives in the bike trade — building wheels, running workshops and racing at the weekend.
Brad Mitchell
Co-founder and Co-director
Brad co-founded Wattwheels in 2017, bringing a strong background in sales and business management. He's been hooked on bikes ever since. Away from work you'll find him racing through the forest on his mountain bike, riding with his kids or running with his dog.
James (Jimmy) Zwaagman
Co-founder and Director
Hooked on bikes since he was dragged along to his first road race at 12, with years of road and track racing behind him. His first bike-shop job came at 13, and he has worked in the trade ever since — from sweeping floors to managing workshops. He has led bike design and innovation at Wattwheels since 2019, and Duo is his passion project.
Dave Comerford
Technical Manager
Dave, known to everyone as Morris, has been racing since 1989 — the Coast to Coast, the Tour of Southland and countless events besides. He brings that riding experience to the workshop, with more than 20 years building and fixing bikes in bike shops.
Karen Gibson
Office Manager
Karen may not be a regular rider, but she's a bike person at heart. She keeps the office running, the books balanced and the rest of us in check. Away from work you'll find her walking her dogs.
