Duo Wheels Limited operates Duo Wheels and duowheels.com. We are a New Zealand company based in Christchurch / Ōtautahi, New Zealand / Aotearoa, and we are responsible for personal information collected through this website.

• When you contact us: your name, email address and the message you send through our contact form, along with the date and time it was sent.
• When you visit the site: our hosting provider and the services that deliver parts of the page automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages or files requested. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure.

We do not use analytics or advertising tracking on this website. There is no Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking, Google Tag Manager or other advertising pixel. We do not take payments or create user accounts on this website.

Sending us a message does not subscribe you to marketing. We only send you marketing if you have asked to receive it.

Where EU or UK data protection law applies, we rely on the following:

• Replying to enquiries: our legitimate interest in answering the questions people send us, or taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract.
• Delivering and securing the website: our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.
• Legal obligations: where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with the law.
• Marketing: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

“Join the launch list” takes you to a separate Duo launch and signup system operated through LaunchBoom. Information you enter there is handled separately from the duowheels.com contact form and is not stored in our contact form records. LaunchBoom handles that information under its own privacy practices.

If you back Duo on Kickstarter, that happens on Kickstarter’s own website under its privacy policy.

Any marketing email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly.

• Essential: our hosting network may set a short-lived security cookie (__cf_bm) to tell people apart from automated bots. It lasts about 30 minutes.
• Embedded content: our home page includes a YouTube video embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and an Instagram feed displayed through a service called Behold. These are described below.
• Analytics and advertising: none. If this changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Some providers process information on our behalf to run the website:

• Lovable hosts the website, stores contact form enquiries in our database and delivers the email notification to our team.
• Cloudflare provides the network that delivers the website.

Other services receive information directly from your browser when their content loads or is used, and handle it under their own privacy policies:

• Behold supplies our Instagram feed. When the home page loads, your browser requests the feed and images from Behold, which receives your IP address and standard browser information.
• YouTube (Google): the embedded video player on our home page loads from YouTube and Google servers when the page loads, so they receive your IP address and standard browser information even before you press play. Playing or interacting with the video may send further information, such as viewing activity, to Google/YouTube.
• Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LaunchBoom and Kickstarter: if you follow a link to these sites, their own policies apply.

We do not sell personal information.

Duo Wheels Limited is based in New Zealand. The providers that process information on our behalf, such as Lovable and Cloudflare, may store or process it in other countries, including the United States. We remain responsible for that information and use these providers only to run the website.

Independent services such as Behold and YouTube receive information directly from your browser when their content loads or is used, and may process it overseas under their own privacy policies.

Where EU/EEA or UK law applies to a transfer, we rely on the safeguards available under that law. You can contact us for more information.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which we collected it, including responding to enquiries and meeting applicable legal, accounting or regulatory requirements. When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we delete or anonymise it where appropriate.

Contact form enquiries are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible, and the website is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, but no website or system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Depending on where you live and the law that applies to you, you may have rights to:

• ask us to correct it
• ask us to delete it

EU/EEA and United Kingdom: where EU or UK data protection law applies, you have the rights described above and can complain to your local data protection authority, or to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK.

United States: we honour the requests described above regardless of which state you live in. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

The Duo Wheels website is not directed at children, and Duo Wheels Limited does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email hello@duowheels.com and we will delete it.
